Effective 6 October 2026. These terms apply to the Traxl Android app and traxl.in.
1. What Traxl is
Traxl is a location-sharing app for a small group of people you choose (a “Circle”). It lets members see each other’s live location, set up place alerts, and send an SOS to the Circle. Traxl is free to use with advertising and with limits on Circles, members and history. Traxl Plus is an optional paid subscription that removes ads and raises those limits (see section 7). Traxl is operated from India by Traxl (“we”, “us”). How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use Traxl
- You must be 13 or older. Traxl asks for your date of birth once. If you are under 13 the account is deleted and cannot be used. Providing a false date of birth breaks these terms.
- Only adults (18 or older) can create a Circle. Someone aged 13 to 17 can join a Circle only through an invite from their parent or legal guardian, who confirms in the app that they are that person’s parent or guardian and consents to their location being shared with the Circle. You must not use Traxl to get around these checks.
- If you invite a minor, you are confirming that you are their parent or legal guardian, that you are entitled to consent on their behalf, and that you will use their location only to look after them. You can remove them from the Circle at any time.
- An account is created with your mobile phone number or your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that number or account secure, since it is the only way to sign in.
3. Sharing your location
Joining a Circle means your live location is visible to the other members of that Circle for as long as you remain a member and sharing is on. You can pause sharing, or leave a Circle, at any time; that stops further sharing going forward. Background sharing shows a notification on your phone while it is active.
Group trips and live links are for adults (18 and over). If you join a trip, your live location is visible to its other verified riders while the trip is live, and its report and journey map (including each rider’s distance and speed) are visible to them afterwards. If you organize a trip, only verify people you know. A live link shows your position to anyone who has the link until it expires or you stop it, so send it only to people you trust.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use Traxl to track anyone who has not agreed to be tracked, or where consent is required by law (for example, an adult who has not agreed to join your Circle). Traxl is not for covert monitoring of partners, ex-partners, employees or anyone else.
- Do not use the SOS feature outside a genuine emergency.
- Do not access another user’s Circle or location data without authorisation, or probe, scrape or disrupt the service.
- Do not use falsified location (“mock location”) tools to mislead other members.
- Follow the laws that apply to you, including those about monitoring other people.
5. SOS, alerts and emergencies
Traxl does not contact the police, ambulance or any other emergency service. SOS, crash detection, place alerts and low-battery alerts notify members of your Circle only. Always call your local emergency number (for example 112 in India or 911 in the United States) directly in a genuine emergency.
Traxl relies on your phone’s network connection, GPS, sensors and battery, none of which is guaranteed to be available at all times, and alerts can be late, missed or wrong. Everything Traxl shows about where someone is or was — live position, history, distances, speeds, place alerts, and crash or flight detection — comes from data the phone itself reports. That data can be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete or deliberately falsified, and Traxl cannot verify it. Do not rely on Traxl as the only basis for any decision about a person’s safety, whereabouts, conduct, employment, or any legal matter.
6. Advertising on the free plan
The free plan shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are not chosen using your Traxl location or Circle data. People under 18 are not shown personalised ads. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
7. Traxl Plus subscription
- Traxl Plus is billed through Google Play as a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel.
- The price, currency and any taxes are shown in Google Play before you confirm. Prices can differ by country.
- To cancel, open Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Traxl and tap Cancel. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not charged again. Deleting the app or your Traxl account does not cancel the subscription — cancel it in Google Play.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google’s own policies; ask Google for a refund where they allow it. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under the law where you live.
- If we change the price, Google Play tells you and you can cancel before it applies.
- If your subscription ends, your account moves to the free plan and its limits (for example how many Circles you can own, how many trips you can create a month, and how long history is kept) apply again. Deleting a trip does not give back a trip to the monthly allowance.
8. Ending your use of Traxl
You may stop using Traxl and delete your account at any time (see Delete Account & Data). We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms, that we believe are being used to harm others, or that were created by someone under 13.
9. No warranty and limit of liability
Traxl is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by inaccurate or delayed location data, missed alerts, or other people’s use of the service. Our total liability to you for anything arising from Traxl is limited to the amount you paid us for Traxl Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability, or any consumer right, that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you use Traxl as a consumer in another country, the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country still apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Traxl changes. We will change the effective date above and announce material changes in the app before they take effect for you.
